![]() ![]() I don't have all the answers on the Z1 and X1 as I personally use the S4MK3 and the F1. That being said, if you're really into pushing the envelope and using the F1, you may be using sync a lot anyway. The Z1 is mostly just the mixer in the middle, volume, cue, etc.Īs for adjusting the track while playing, which is what the jog wheels/platters are for as well as scratching and some other tricks, I'm not sure what functions on the Z1 or X1 can do that, it might not be possible. Usually a Z1 is used by a beginner who upgrades to an S4, a DJM or a Xone eventually.Ĭue points will be done on your X1, as well as effects. This is the most popular modular Traktor controller too and has a good resale value.Ī Z1 is basically a two channel audio interface that doesn't have balanced outputs like every other comparably priced audio interface. The X1 is very straightforward so if you want a simple, easy to use modular controller then this is the top choice. It's possible to use a single F1 to control regular decks on channels 1 & 2 and remix decks on 3 & 4 by switching between remix deck mode and user mode but you probably just want to use two. The F1 'user mode' is assigned to decks A and B in a way that can't be changed so if you assign incorporate an X1 for decks A & B you duplicate the vast majority of the functions of the F1 user mode. I suggest you use either two X1 or two F1s but not the combo because the F1 user mode duplicates the vast majority of functions the X1 has for decks A & B. ![]() You can mix internally with 4 channels using the software to sum and limit the audio or you can mix externally using a 4 channel mixer to handle the summing and limiting in hardware so you can use either a 4 channel mixer or just an audio interface. Traktor can mix internally or externally. ![]()
